Day 46 of Wonder

There is no waste in nature. An aged tree pushed by wind finally lets go of its hold on the earth. Gnarly roots point towards the sky as the trunk rests against the soil. It is a thing of beauty. I don't need it to be anything more than that. But for the numerous life forms that thrive in and on the remaining carcass of this gentle giant, it is so much more. The simplicity and complexity of these interactions are stunning.
