Day 56 of Wonder

Furry mounds atop a craggy boulder. This boulder is not a natural feature of the area but supplanted here from far afield to act as a gateway between town and field. It's twin a sentry on the other-side of the path. But nature can not be resisted and moss, lichen and small insects have made this newcomer their home. I'm constantly awed by the persistence in nature to live. Under any conditions. Here the conditions are rich and conducive. And still it amazes me.
