Day 80 of Wonder

Nature appears so unique at times that there is the weird sense that it is almost alien. Or other-worldly. This tree log, cut and left to rot quietly by the path has growth on it that reminds me of coral or crustaceans of some kind. It would not have surprised me to see fish or sea-horses swim between the outcrops, except that I was standing in a wooden forest hundreds of metres above sea-level. Marvellous.
