Day 139 of Wonder

Life without mystery is really boring. Who can say what this little fellow died of, but he was lying belly up smack in the middle of the trail. The shiny hard case surrounding the body is interesting enough, but the colour is stunning. What advantages does this beetle gain over others by displaying such a colourful body? Mysteries abound in nature. We surmise, of course. Hypothesise. Guess, Postulate. But really, why so much spectacular and varied colours? And in this case, his body shines.Wonderful!
