Day 150 of Wonder

365 Days of Wonder

The imminent storms forecast since Friday have only just arrived in this part of Germany this evening. Instead of planning hikes, bike rides, BBQs and other outdoor adventures we hunkered indoors gazing longingly at the sky wondering if it was safe to venture outside. Reports filtering in of flash flooding, deadly lightening strikes and other unpleasantness held sway in our imaginations.

The thing is, when you have a dog, no matter what the weather, you always have to go out, especially when you live in an apartment without a garden. The moment looked stable and I dashed out to our local forest for a slushy walk. No matter the conditions, there is always something marvellous to catch my eye. My pick for today is this tiny flower, not much bigger than a centimetre in diameter. It doesn't even come in a cluster but on the end of a spindly stem half a metre from its nearest neighbour. Common? Yes! Awe inspiring? In its own delightful way, yes!
